Rare antique Swiss Hebdomas Patent 9K Gold pocket watch 8 Days/jour crica 1910 rare & limited olympic edition in working condition The hebdomas 8 day pocket watch was first created in the later part of the 19 century and with the miner variation,ever since. the watch has a distictive style with a small dial, visible balance wheel and a decorated balance look. the out standig feature is the unusal large minspiring barred. which occupies the rear of the movement. Hebdomas as watches obtained many rewards and medals i.e GENEVA 1896, PARIS 1900, CHICAGO 1902, MILAN 1906, BRUXELLES 1910, BERNE 1914. The origin of the watch traces bact to 1888 when a watc maker from the jura canton(Switzerland) applied for a patent for an 8 days watch with a visible companent. the patent was granted on 10 January 1889 but this is turn was purchased by a watch maker from la ferriere, Artur gravelly , who develop the watch in to a commercial success later, in partnership with Otto schild from Grenchen, they setup business in la-chaux-de-fonds at the beginning of the of the century under the name of GRAIZELY & co. in 1906 the partnership was dissolved and a naw company was formed under the name of schild & co. and established in a new factory in Rue Du PARC La-chaux-de-fonds. which is the present address of the company. examples of the hebdomas watch may often be seen in museums and private collections. NOTE: THE KALMAR ANTIQUES sold a same watch model in silver color but this is in golden color nine k gold....
